Buildings, birds and a love of gardening and things rural inspire my work. I do not have a theme but make what inspires me at the time. Most of my pots have a practical purpose as well as being decorative. Earthenware or stoneware clays are used with or without glazes depending on the subject.
Having trained as an industrial designer and worked in the industry for a while I still use some industrial techniques. Although, most of my work is slab built, coiled or a combination of both, I do use moulds which I make myself if I require a repeat item. I did not learn to throw until the end of my training and still find it messy and slow. However I do turn most of my pots to give them a neater finish and add decoration as well.
