Drawing is central to my practice and although I work through the mediums of printmaking and painting all my work starts with the drawn line.

My printmaking explores what endures and what is transformed over time and by memory. ‘Place and Memory’ is a series of monotypes exploring this theme. I am currently working on a set of monotypes that takes sculpture of the human face as its starting point, changing and creating anew faces both familiar and obscure that have been passed down to us through time.

My paintings are primarily concerned with place and by discovering through the act of looking and recreating the visual element of the elusive concept of ‘sense of place’.
